What is a leader?





The leader is a person who is able to influence others.

Is the reference within a group (either a sports team, a college course, a theater company, the department of a company, etc.).

Is the person who has "the lead" in the group, her opinion is more valued.

Leadership has nothing to do with the position hierarchical addresses:

A person can be the leader of a group and not be their leader and, conversely, can be a leader without being the boss.

The leader decides what to do under the authority granted by their hierarchical position.

The leader, without necessarily having the hierarchical authority also has the potential to decide the group's performance based on the influence of which is determined by the "moral authority" exercised over the rest of the team.

The group members know that trust and confidence in front of it is the leader.

What characterizes a leader is his ability to lead teams:

Each member gets to work and provide the best of himself in the struggle to achieve a common objective (is to win the championship, improve business results, to win political elections, etc.)..

In addition to this innate ability to manage teams, the leader is also characterized by their vision.

Is a person who looks to the long term, which sets ambitious goals for the organization and getting his team thrill in finding them.

The leader anticipates changes, ahead of competitors.

A person who does not have this vision could be a good manager, a good coordinator, but never a true leader.

In the goals pursued by the leader raises both the good of the company and the owners of each of its members.

A person who is only looking at their future welfare could hardly be the leader of an organization. This would ultimately reject it.

A person who had a great vision but lacked implementation capacity could be a good strategist, but never a leader.

Finally, we note that it is not a leader who wants only one who can.

To be a leader must have a very outstanding personal qualities that not everyone possesses.

Some people have such an innate qualities, but also can be acquired through learning and experience
